Fruit of the Loom was formed in 1851 by Robert Knight and Rufus Skeel, two friends, one, the former who was a textile mill owner and Skeel the owner of a cloth shop who sold the produce from the Knight Mill. The company went on to be known world wide manufacturing various clothing items from t shirts to sweaters.
